The AMERICAN MARITIME ACADEMY Stewardess course is a complete training package for all entry level roles on board a Superyacht.
This course encompasses the Basic Stewardess course , as well as providing extra practical and theory training , that allows you to gain the AMA Superyacht Deck Crew certification.
Giving you the theoretical and practical skills necessary to be an active crew member as both a Steward/ess onboard a superyacht, the Stewardess course will ensure students become job ready, as they receive a range of Stewardessing skills and techniques, and receive a full introduction to the industry, as well as participate in a variety of practical skills .
Students will also receive further training in both power and sail Superyacht skills, which will increase their opportunities for placement once they graduate.
Stewardess course is specifically designed to set you on your pathway across all Superyachts around this world.
This course allows you the freedom to work as a Stewardess or Steward a combined role on board a Superyacht. This also opens up more employment opportunities, as many of the smaller yachts prefer fewer employees that can work in a number of roles on board. If you haven't worked in a professional hospitality setting before, or wish to have the freedom of a diverse number of employment opportunities, this is definitely the course for you.
The AMA Stewardess course will provide you with multiple skills and a professional knowledge of your role onboard as a Superyacht Stewardess, Steward .
Successful graduates can confidently accept any Steward or Stewardess. course places great emphasis on the essentials of good management as well as giving you the theoretical and practical skills necessary to be an active crew member onboard a superyacht.
PREREQUISITES
This is the entry level course for superyacht crew and anyone with a reasonable command of the English language, who is over 18 years old, in good health, and without colour blindness can sign up for the course.
Either before or after you start your Steward or Stewardess training you will need to have completed a six day STCW95 Basic Safety Course (Standards of Training Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers), that is compulsory for all crew on superyachts.
Superyacht Crew Academy conducts regular STCW95 courses during which you will study safety and sea survival, first aid and CPR, fire fighting including use of breathing apparatus and personal and social responsibilities and vessel security. The STCW95 can be packaged with the Steward or Stewardess course or you can do the two separately.
